The 2012 NBA Draft had a lot of talent, but the brightest star was Anthony Davis. Can Anthony Davis lead the New Orleans franchise to the playoffs?
1.) Anthony Davis- New Orleans Hornets
Davis is definitely a potential franchise player, a game changer, and can bring hope to the city of New Orleans. After losing Chris Paul and basically getting nothing in return (Eric Gordon injured) Davis can help start the movement for their rebuilding team. I feel like this was a solid and safe pick for this franchise. Lets see if he can carry the franchise on his back as they try to make the playoffs.
Strengths- DEFENSE DEFENSE and more DEFENSE... Terrific shot blocker, can run the floor, and has a great attitude and seems to have a high basketball IQ. Also has an underrated offensive game. When he blocks shots he keeps the ball in play, which also makes him a great outlet passer. As his college season progressed he showed a nice touch and floor game which to me elevated his draft stock that much higher.
Weakness- Doesn't quite have a polished offensive game yet, but I believe with the right coaching he will pick quickly because of his high basketball IQ. Definitely needs to develop some type of hook shot or a mid-range game. He has a build similar to LaMarcus Aldridge, so more than likely he will need a face up game with a decent mid-range jumpshot.
